Eursap’s Tip of the Week: How to send a link for an SAP document to another SAP user

Ever wanted to email a link for an SAP document to another SAP user?

You can do that, as long as you have the Generic Object Service (GOS) button activated for the transaction. To activate this button in sales orders, refer to our earlier tip here:

To send a link to another user, click on the GOS button and Send>Send object with note, as below.

This brings up the following screen, from where you can send to another user, an external email address or a distribution list, etc. You can also change the title here.

Once the email arrives in your SAP inbox, you can click on the attachment to open the document:

A message is posted:

This then navigates to the display version of the transaction:

This process works in the SAP GUI as well as SAP Fiori. Of course, if you have SAP CoPilot installed on your SAP S/4HANA system, then sending a link to a document in the CoPilot chat is a piece of cake!
