Eursap’s Tip of the Week: Finding deprecated SAP transactions and their replacements in SAP S/4 HANA

Many transactions have been deprecated from ECC 6 to SAP S/4 HANA. There is an easy way to find a list of those transactions.

Use table PRGN_CORR2 in SE16N.

For example, below I am listing all the transactions from ECC6 which have been replaced in S/4HANA.

As can be seen there are 57 transactions which have been replaced by transaction BP:

It is possible to say from which SAP release this replacement has been activated. In my example above, the transactions have been replaced from release 751. But what does this release represent?

This represents the Netweaver version of your instance. The below diagram shows alignment of Netweaver versions to SAP S/4HANA application versions.

Alternatively to understand your SAP release version, open System>Status from the menu path as below:

Under the section “SAP System data” click on the magnifying glass icon:

Then check your SAP_BASIS release level as below.

I hope you find this useful! Stay tuned for another SAP Tip from Eursap next week.
