Our client in central London, UK, a reputable public sector organisation, is looking to expand their team and currently has need to hire an SAP HCM Payroll Consultant.

You will be responsible for carrying out analysis in the identification, development, implementation, maintenance and support of business systems. The job will be successfully carried out by building strong relationships with the appropriate business partners, and delivering business systems solutions to agreed service levels.

Salary Indication:
£ 43,250/annum

* Significant experience of developing and supporting SAP HR and SAP HR Payroll (UK). (M)
* Significant experience in writing Payroll Schemas and PCR’s (M)
* Significant experience with SAP Time Management with Time evaluation (M)
* Technical and Legislative knowledge in PAE, RTI, etc (M)
* Business analysis in an HR/Payroll environment. (M)
* Writing technical specifications and test cases. (M)
* Configuration in SAP. (M)
* Using a standard project methodology. (D)
* Experience of the software development life cycle. (D)
* Working in a cross functional SAP team. (D)

* Significant functional and configuration knowledge of SAP HR and UK Payroll. (M)
* Knowledge of a variety of techniques for requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation and validation. (M)
* Able to read and Debug ABAP (M)

* Extensive knowledge of service operation and continual service improvement. (D)
* Knowledge of interfaces. (D)

Main Responsibilities:
* Raise project and operational interdependencies, risks, and issues. Investigate and propose service improvements.
* Play a supportive role in the identification of system solutions for specific projects to ensure that they are in line with the IT strategy and are the most appropriate for our technical environment.
* Play a major role in the analysis, specification and design of new applications, functionality and enhancements to existing applications. Proactively capture and manage changes to requirements throughout the development life cycle. Perform system analysis, development (including programming) and configuration.
* Work with third party suppliers to scope third-party solutions and tasks where applicable. Write specifications for third parties and internal staff. Work with third parties to ensure that requirements are understood and provide a fast, dynamic feedback loop for queries and changes. Contribute to the definition of the architecture and design.
* Apply technical expertise and knowledge. Lead the unit and integration testing, and support acceptance testing. Ensure that the IT component is delivered to agreed service levels and is handed over to production. Document the system analysis, development and configuration, operational procedures, development and test processes and procedures.
* Play a major role in the resolution of production incidents and problems that have been passed from other departments via the IT Service Desk. Ensure solutions are documented. Provide expertise, guidance and support to other staff in their work to diagnose and resolve incidents and problems. Support the necessary maintenance of the business systems.
* Play a major role in providing technical expertise and guidance to the Support Team on the use of relevant development tools and best practices.
* Play a supportive role in training business staff on the effective use of specific new business systems and enhancements. Play a major role in training IT client services and technical services teams to facilitate the handover of systems into production.
* Play a supportive role in advising business staff and other IT staff on the implication of new initiatives and ideas on current applications
