SAP S/4HANA Master Data Solution Architect (MM/VC) - English Speaking - Remote Work. Start Date. 11th May 2026 (flexible). 12 Month+ Contract Assignment.
Our client, in the IT services sector, is looking to hire an SAP S/4HANA Master Data Solution Architect, with deep expertise in Material Master Data (SAP MM) as well as experience with SAP VC (Variant Configuration) to design a robust, scalable and harmonized master data solution within the SAP landscape, moving from ECC to S/4HANA.
This is a long-term, group-wide transformation involving the implementation of SAP S/4HANA on a global scale. The aim is to harmonize processes, strengthen data governance and ensure a sustainable ERP environment.
The role owns the material master concept, supports migration and testing activities, drives alignment between different workflows, and acts as a subject matter expert in Material Master data, classification and variant configuration.
Experience needed:
- In-depth knowledge of SAP master data and its cross-functional use
- Strong expertise in SAP MM, material master, classification and VC
- Experience of SAP projects (design, migration, testing, cutover)
- Experience of variant configuration
- Experience of backend modelling (AVC) - nice to have
- Understanding of information architecture and data governance
- Experience of integrations with production and planning systems
Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture / Data Architecture
- Own and further develop the global material master concept, including dependencies on classification and variant configuration
- Lead the implementation of the material master concept and identify process impacts
- Design scenario-based rules, templates and design standards for harmonization
- Ensure an end-to-end perspective for material master data, including integrations (e.g. MES, planning systems and MDM solutions)
- Model and further develop core master data processes
- Define end-to-end scenarios for different material categories
Data & Migration
- Support the design of structures for material master, service master and classification
- Mapping and transforming legacy data to SAP’s master data model
- Contributing to the development of variant configuration models
- Harmonization of cross-functional data structures
- Coordinating and supporting end-to-end testing
- Delivering training initiatives (train-the-trainer and end-users)
- Contributing to authorization concepts for master data
- Support other master data objects as required
- Provide operational support to the business
- Provide ongoing support and enablement within the master data domain
- Support the implementation of master data governance
- Maintain and troubleshoot variant configuration models
- Perform bulk updates and data corrections
- Ensure stability following go-live
