SAP Tips: Finding a table name from a field name

Ever wondered which table a field is used in? Sure, you can use the “Where used” list in SE11, but to do that you need to get the data type for the field before you can see the table it’s in.

There is a much easier way.

Table DD03L holds the key here. Just enter the field name for which you want to see the tables and execute.

Note that all types of table are included in the results, including transparent tables and structures, as shown in the screenshot below where VBBE (transparent table) and VBDPA (structure) are highlighted.
