SAP Tips: Finding the transaction code for an IMG activity

We all work in shortcuts in SAP and transaction codes give you a nice way to get to your IMG path without having to follow the extensive SPRO menu tree.

But how to identify the transaction code for an IMG activity?

Follow these steps:

In the menu path in SPRO, right click on the path you would like to see the transaction for, and select “Display technical info”:


Click on the Maint.objects to see the transaction:


BUT! This does not always work. See this example:


This points direct to transaction SM30, the “Edit table views” transaction. You may be able to edit the table here, but a transaction still exists – bear with me!

Take a note of the IMG activity ID – in this case “SAPC_STANDORT”.

Now go to transaction SE16N (the table browser) and look at table “CUS_IMGACH”. Enter your IMG Activity ID as below:


Execute, and your maintenance transaction can be seen in the Transaction Code field:
