SAP Tips: SAP Support for your ERP 6.0 and SAP S/4HANA systems

SAP Tips: SAP Support for your ERP 6.0 and SAP S/4HANA systems

Most of us, as SAP consultants, are aware that SAP ERP 6.0 (ECC6) is out of vendor support at the end of 2027. Maybe you didn’t know that there are only a handful of SAP ECC 6.0 versions which are supported after 2025?

Your ERP 6.0 version could be out of support by end of 2025.

To check out the version your system is on, while logged in to the SAP GUI, click on the “System” menu and select “Status”.

This will open a popup on the screen and within this popup, under section “SAP System Data”, there is a little magnifying glass. Select that, and under the “Installed Product Versions” tab you can see your enhancement pack. In my example below, my SAP system is an S/4HANA on-premise 1909 system.

NOTE: don’t forget that if you are running SAP S/4HANA 1809 or higher, you may need additional security object S_SYS_INFO assigned to be able to see the full system status.

SAP offers support for each version of SAP S/4HANA for five years, meaning if you are on an SAP S/4HANA 1511 or 1610 version, you are already out of mainstream support. The good news is that upgrades between versions in SAP S/4HANA is not such a big deal as it is from SAP ERP 6.0 to SAP S/4HANA.

The even better news is that if you are running the SaaS solution SAP S/4HANA Cloud, then you are never out of support!
