SAP Tips: The SE16* transactions in SAP S/4HANA

Every good SAP consultant is aware of SE16, the data browser. Additionally, SE16N is a more modern version of that transaction.

However, were you aware that there are other versions of SE16 which can be helpful for your business users?

For example, your material master data team may not be allowed access to all tables in SAP and therefore cannot have access to the generic SE16/SE16N. However, they could be granted access to the more specific SE16_MARA and SE16_MARC, which locks their search into tables MARA and MARC.

Take a look at all the different versions of SE16, by looking at table TSTC in transaction SE16N and adding the following search:

There are sixty different transactions starting with SE16. Some, like SE16N_EMERGENCY, is now redundant, but others can be very useful.
