Eursap's SAP Tips: Checking if an SAP data field is case sensitive. A useful tip - especially when coding.

It’s useful sometimes to know if a field in SAP is case sensitive, especially when coding.

To find this out, follow these steps (works in SAP GUI and SAP Fiori):

  1. F1 on the field
  2. Click on the Technical Information button
  3. Double click the Data Element to view the domain screen
  4. Double click the Domain from the Data Element screen
  5. If the "lower case" checkbox is checked then the field is case sensitive

Example screenshots below show for the Customer Reference field in VA01.

I hope you find this useful!
