Eursap's SAP Tips: Interrogating the Universal Journal in SAP S/4HANA.

In SAP S/4HANA, the universal journal heralds a new data model in finance where the ACDOCA table replaces COEP, COBK, ANEK, ANEP, ANEA and a few other tables. As a result of this simplification, the table covers fields in GL accounting, asset accounting, profitability analysis and the material ledger.

One of the most powerful transactions/apps at your disposal as a finance analyst in SAP S/4HANA is the transaction FAGLL03H, or Fiori app G/L Account Line Item Browser. This transaction interrogates the ACDOCA table in addition to many other tables such as BKPF, BSEG, SKA1, SKB1, KNA1, LFA1 etc. This makes this transaction a central hub for all your universal journal querying.

Once in the report, you can select the columns you wish from the section on the right hand side of the screen (as shown below). From this section, you can also create and save layouts, download the data or even display the ABAP select statement for the entries.
