Eursap’s SAP Tip of the week: Spell checker in your SAP system

Many users do not realise that SAP has its own built in basic spell checker, run by Microsoft Word.

It’s pretty basic and will only show you an incorrect word, rather than the correct spelling, but can be useful when typing texts in languages which are not native to you.

As an example, if I open up a material master in MM02 and add some sales text and make deliberate spelling errors as below, I can ask SAP to check this for me. When the spell checker is opened, it will check ALL input fields shown on the screen and suggest words which may have been spelled incorrectly.

At the bottom of the screen, SAP has picked up the words “Datebook” from the material description and “speling” and “eror” from the sales text, as incorrectly spelled words.

These words are presented to you as plain text.

Basic spell check, but maybe useful! Sadly, only available in SAP GUI, not Fiori.

I hope you find this useful! Stay tuned for another SAP Tip from Eursap next week!
