Eursap’s Tip of the Week: How to see customer contact person attributes in SAP S/4HANA
Customers in SAP ECC6 have become business partners in SAP S/4HANA. This brings with it a whole ton of changes, which must be incorporated into your business processes. One of the issues which seems to catch people out is contact persons.
Contact persons in the business partner world can be set up in the “Relationships” tab, as seen below:
This is standard and is well documented in business partner processes. To view the contact, you can double click the business partner number which is assigned as the contact person.
This opens the details of the contact person as below:
One thing you will notice here is that you cannot see the contact person attributes – attributes 1-10 – on this screen. This catches many people out!
There is a reason for this. Let’s backtrack to my initial screen where I selected the “Relationships” button originally:
As you can see here, I am viewing this business partner in the role “Business Partner (Gen.)”. please be aware that the customer contact attributes cannot be viewed in this role. To view these attributes, change the “Display in BP role” to a customer role, as below:
Now select your Relationships button again, and double click your contact. Now, as if by magic, you will see the contact person attributes.
I hope you find this useful! Stay tuned for another SAP Tip from Eursap next week.
